About St. John the Baptist Theological College
St. John the Baptist Theological College was established in 1952 as the college of the Anglican Diocese of Polynesia. Originally located at Wailoku, it subsequently moved to Tower Street and then to its current location in Suva. Initially preparing men for ordained ministry, it now trains both men and women for ordained and lay ministry. Its multicultural community encompasses Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga and Polynesians in Aotearoa New Zealand. The current study program is a 240-credit Level 5 Diploma in Theology, with papers in biblical studies, theological studies, liturgical theology and worship, Moana mission and ministry, and Moana leadership. The chapel is a focal point of community life and ministerial formation.
